TVXQ dominated the charts – TVXQ Arena Tour, “We are normal, work still in progress”

Five man group TVXQ’s Purple Line and Beautiful You have both reached the number one spot twice on the weekly Oricon chart in Japan within one year.

Male group TVXQ had a meeting with reporters from South Korea before their 5 p.m. performance on June 5 at the Saitama Super Arena in Tokyo, Japan at their TOHOSHINKI T THIRD LIVE TOUR (3rd Live Tour ~ T ~).

TVXQ’s leader U-Know Yunho said that the most popular singers in Asia find it hard to get on Japan’s Oricon Weekly chart and that it’s very hard to get two singles in the top. Purple Line and Beautiful You both made number one on the exclusive chart which is known to be a hard list to get on, especially for foreigners. “I think I was not listening. So far, we have learned more without losing our heart.” He (Yunho) said modestly. **

TVXQ has grown in popularity over the past three years and for the first time in the last three seasons in Japan they are holding a national Arena tour. They are touring Japan a total of seventeen performances around the city with up 15 million people and audiences in the tens of thousands.

“The last three years seem so much better. Fans from 20 – 70 come bringing their families.” Yunho said. “Oh, no, the fans rather simply enjoy our music and our people are truly glad to share with the people in Japan. While I’m in Japan I am even more glad that people listen.”

Hero Jaejoong said that, “TVXQ, regardless of the various genres of music, say that their music is still fresh in Japan especially to the local production team who’ve heard a lot.”

“Dance, techno, R&B, ballads and a variety of styles accumulate in the attention of more people like Bonnie Moyida fans of various ages.” He (Jaejoong) said to analyze why the response is so thick.

But TVXQ’s rise to first place did not start out doing just fine. The first time TVXQ was in Japan in 2005 they had implemented the ‘Step Up’ strategy for the group starting first with small live theater performances.

“Our first time in Japan we had small theater performances where people had to leave before the concert, we started at a small degree,” Jaejoong said. “Repeatedly, 300 people to some 1000 people would show up in our concerts. In this way, the Arena concert tour is on a bigger scale allowing as many people in front of us as possible which makes us happy.”

“In Japan, naturally, the performance of a singer is judged based on the scale, quality and class of the group,” said TVXQ’s Japanese manager (something about SM entertainment). “The yearly increase of the fans twice the number (more now) from the first small concerts to the Arena Concert tour is growing evidence of TVXQ’s current location as singers.

South Korean singer BoA was first, but TVXQ is second with their brand of Japanese popular music. For now, TVXQ is grounded in Japan as they prepare for activities in South Korea this fall.

Xiah Junsu thanks fans in Korea stating his gratitude, “For the fans Korea and Japan who love us we will work harder. There is a little more cardiovascular in this upcoming album so I’m becoming lean to reach a good look.”
